Following the successful reinstatement of Khaled Sabsabi and Michael Dagostino as the artistic team for the Australian Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Biennale, we are delighted to share further extraordinary news.

Khaled Sabsabi has been invited to participate in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, titled In Minor Keys, curated by Koyo Kouoh.

At the Australia Pavilion, Sabsabi will present a major new work, conference of one’s self, an immersive installation that continues his profound exploration of spirituality, migration and shared humanity.

It is a rare honour for an artist to be presented simultaneously in both La Biennale’s main exhibition and a national pavilion. Khaled Sabsabi is the first Australian artist in the history of La Biennale di Venezia to be invited to participate in both exhibitions in the same year.

It has been a privilege to represent and support Khaled during what has been a challenging and defining period. This invitation affirms the depth, power and humility of his practice, and recognises the significance of his voice within an international context.

We are also pleased to announce that a major new exhibition by Khaled Sabsabi will be presented at Milani Gallery in October 2026.

We are deeply grateful for the strength and solidarity of the arts community whose support has helped make this historic dual representation possible.
